RECORDING FOLEY SOUNDS

A person on this blog wanted me to go a little further in recording sound. I thought it would be a good idea to show how foley sounds are made and how they are used. I recorded this foley sound from a fan in a house. It would be more ideal to record in a dedicated sound room for foley recording, but I used this simple house fan for the example. The footage is from youtube that had people talking while they were recording the helicopter. I just took the original sound out and replaced it with the foley sound from the house fan. I hope this can shine a little more light on recording sound.

There is no ending. I just wanted to show a comparison between the sounds. One with the original audio and the other with the replaced Foley sound.

Thanks Mr. Watson. Please let me know what you would like to see or learn about next. Remember just go out and experiment with different thing to see what works for you and what doesn't. Happy filming.

I enjoyed the lessons on Foley sounds. I've always been curious how the sounds are created. However, I would love to discuss the film its self.
Ok, so Parents:
I was able to get a sneak pre-view of the up coming film by producer Joseph Piner
" Electronic Crack". I started out being impressed with the clips but ending up actually feeling disturbed. This film not only does it take you through the journey it also points out a big flaw in society. I said before electronics are turning everyone into robots, Yes! this includes you and yours as well. We all are guilty of giving our kids electronics to catch a break at some point. I decided to take a broader look at the situation. While fb, Google, Instagram, snapchat and more consumes us daily allowing some to profit as we lose the biggest asset we have OUR BRAINS. There's so much we all need to learn to protect ourselves and our kids. If you watch "Electronic Crack" I promise you will not only re- evaluate what we are doing; and our schools are not knowingly doing to our kids. As parents we want to please our kids, keep them happy and up with the times, and showboat the best for them*** BUT ARE WE?? Or are we damaging them mentally and physically?? If you know drugs and alcohol is prohibited because of the harmful side effects then don't you agree that if electronics is harmful then it should carry the same warnings??
I'm just wondering what other parents thoughts are on this subject. Do you think electronics keeps your kids from learning? Can they honestly function on paper as well without a laptop? Do you think school's should go back to learning the old fashion way? Should children under a certain age be band from the usage?

Concerned parents please comment you opinion :

Thank you for this conversation. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed being one of the first to view this film, as we put our very best in making this film in hopes that it will shed a little more light on addiction to our electronic devices. While many are unaware of this growing problem with addiction to devices & social media, we can't wait to premiere our film to the public. Once that takes place we will be letting everyone know.
